So the other day I shot a commercial for Brita Filtered Water and the Filter For Good Bottle, which I use every single day when I work out. I am so excited to be partnering with Brita and showing people how important it is to stay hydrated. I had a talk with a couple of the guys from Brita today and we were discussing how much water an individual should be drinking and we have all heard it before that we need about 8 glasses a day. I always tell people that your urine should be very clear and that is a good sign that you are hydrated. Darker colored urine means that you are dehydrated. It is kind of funny to talk about urine but regarding hydration, it is extremely important. So there is my water tip for the day, make sure you have light colored urine to know that you are properly hydrated…. and use a Brita Filter System and a Filter for Good Bottle and help yourself AND the environment.

Great info on being hydrated! I am doing better about drinking more water, especially since I have not been able to concentrate well lately due to dehydration. I even went out and bought a couple more water bottles to store in fridge ready to go when I need one.

Hey Bob- but is the plastic used for these Brita bottles safe? I thought plastic starts to wear down after use and it is unhealthy for you. Is this true?

@ Tammy's Comment: Dude, I hear ya. I get that shows need sponsors. They are called commercials. And yeah I can see why they may need to product place with all of the tie ins for Extra and Britta. The anti gravity treadmill starts at $25,000 bucks. So I understand the business aspect of it.
I just want to know where the line is between product placement, business and selling your soul. Hell, at least Bobs site is free. I am on Jillians and it costs me something like $15 bucks per month(not for much longer).
With this kind of money transferring between so many hands and with so many contracts, for me the lines are very blurred. I don't for 1 second, doubt Bobs sincerity or his dedication. I believe his heart is in the right place. But every now and again I would like to hear an opinion or piece of advice be given freely and with out a corporate shoutout. Because at some point this will turn around and both Bob and Jillian will become the Billy Mays or even worse, this generations version of Richard Simmons.
This whole thing is kinda like when a kid sees a pro ball player and hands him a baseball but the player won't sign it because it is a Wilson ball and not a Spaulding. And yeah, I get that money makes the world go 'round.

@ Aj's Comment: Even if it is an ad, look at how many people Bob inspires and touches everyday. Yea the ads on Biggest Loser are corny, but the show has to have a sponser. That is just the way things work. Even with all the game play and all the drama, people still get tons of hope and inspiration off of Bob and Jillian, and all the contestants on the Biggest Loser. You have to take a little bit of the bad to get the good. Well that's my say on the matter.

Wow, Okay, I can't believe I am about to do this, but here goes.
Ok was that a blog or an ad for Britta? Did you at least get paid for it?
I like your blog for you and for what you have to say. And after suffering through 2 hours of pandering during “Loser” every Tuesday, this was a little tedious.
Honestly I love your challenges and reading about what you have to say about health, fitness and wellness and yes I want to hear what you have to say about water and dehydration. I can do without the additional advertising.

Thanks Bob. This I did not know before, but I'll keep it in check for now on. I am a strong believer in getting my water intake in, but there are times, especially when life throws a curve ball at me…such as this whole year has been for me, that I know I am not getting enough water into my system. However, I know that the body doesn't lie about these kind of things, and therefore, I'll be using this urine check as a reminder note for me to drink more water when ever really need the reminder note for it.

Love my Brita.,,,like Bob I use it everyday!!!! Water taste better and I feel better. I am almost horrified when I look at the filter and know that before I listened to BL, I was drinking all that crude. Not only does it taste better; I feel better knowing it is better for me. Love you Bob XOXOXO

Okay, I am just getting started and can definitely say I am excited to have found your website. I totally learn something every season of the BL when you are working with the contestents. I know I will benefit greatly from the website. In your post concerning drinking water, this is one of my biggest challenges. I know I don't drink water like I should. Is it okay to add the Crystal Light flavors when drinking water. Does that count or should it just be plain water?
