Okay so I just read this week's Time Magazine and the cover story was entitled, “Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin” and all I can say is STOP PUTTING SUCH MISINFORMATION OUT THERE!!!!  Aren't we as Americans so tired of all these “studies” that tell us that this is bad for you now and that is good for you now.  I understand that we are ever evolving and, yes, things do change but to put something like that on the cover of Time Magazine infuriates me.  When I read the article and the writer talked about how his wife and her running group were complaining about not losing any weight, the real reason is that they were going to Starbucks afterwards and making UNHEALTHY choices.  The idea that people out there want to “reward” themselves for going to the gym by eating “crap” just tells me that they have not made the full connection yet when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.  Nutrition is extremely important when it comes to losing weight but you can never discount the ENDLESS benefits of moving your body around and exercising.  In my work with my contestants on the Biggest Loser, when you combine eating right with working out not only do you achieve great weight loss, but conditions like high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol just to name a few, become more manageable.  Not only that but people who exercise are happier also and sleep better.  Exercise is a crucial piece of the healthy puzzle that we are all trying to piece together so PLEASE do not take away from that misguided article that you shouldn't workout or what's the point, because it is important and when you do workout just remember to make the wise choice when it comes to your food and stay away from those fatty, sugary and salty foods.  I beg you to make the FULL connection to living a healthy life. Boy, I'm still burning up about that article…..can you tell..xoxox

Well it is Wednesday, the 5th of August…how in the world has that happened!!!  Time just keeps flying by and work just keeps on going.  We are about to wrap up season 8 of The Biggest Loser and it has been a great season.  It is all about Second Chances this time and the contestants continue to be an inspiration to all of us. The dedication that they have is unbelievable and the weight loss is astounding!!  Have you thought about what is like to get a second chance at anything in your life?  It is really something to think about.  What would you do different if you had the opportunity?  Don't you deserve a second chance right now?  I'm giving you a big gift right now…I'm giving you a second chance.  What are you going to do with it?  Think about that today and let me know your thoughts.

Let's see…what else have I been doing lately?  Well today I had to do a press junket for this new Biggest Loser workout Wii game and it was really cool to see the finished product.  The avatar of me was kind of bizarre but cool.  It has my tattoos and everything.  I can't wait to see what you think of it.  It will be out at the end of October.  I have teamed up with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in a campaign about how our health connects us.  All the things that we do in our own lives that can directly affect our support group so I encourage all of you to go onto http://www.anthem.com/connects and see what your health footprint is and help not only yourself get or stay healthy, but also your friends, co-workers and family.  I'm all about paying it forward and this campaign does just that.  I also have another very big project that I'm about to start working on that I won’t tell you about just yet but very soon I will…I gotta keep you hanging a little bit…hahaha.  Now what I want YOU to start thinking about is your second chance.  What is it?  What are you going to do with it?  Do you keep a journal because if you do, it should be an interesting section and if you don't, why not start one?  It is a great way to keep track of your own life.  Until next time….xoxo
