Hey everyone. How are you all doing with getting enough fiber into your diet? It’s important to eat enough fiber because it promotes health and helps reduce the risk for some chronic diseases. It prevents constipation, hemorrhoids and diverticulosis. Fiber is also linked to preventing cancer, and it can help lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Fiber can also help lower blood sugar, which helps to manage diabetes.
There are two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble.
Insoluble fiber
speeds the passage of food through your stomach and intestines and helps remove
toxic waste. It can be found in whole
wheat products, whole grains, brown rice, dark leafy vegetables, tomatoes,
cucumbers, and zucchini.
