Get started on weight loss tonight with SKINNY RULE #18!

Posted on

I can’t wait to share my new book, THE SKINNY RULES, with the world this spring, but in the meantime I’m getting all kinds of requests for a sneak-peak because who really wants to wait to get started losing weight? So, okay. With “Rule #18: Go to Bed Hungry” you can get a jump on weight loss tonight! Your body will respond: denied fuel for more than five hours, your body will start burning its own fat and sugar. That means that if your dinner was at 8 p.m., you’re burning fat by 1 a.m. Eat earlier, start burning fat earlier. Either way, you’ll wake up wanting breakfast, which is a good thing: you should eat a proper breakfast instead of grabbing a high-carb bagel or muffin on your way to work! (What’s a proper breakfast? I’ll give you some fantastic options in the book).

The absence of carbs in your bloodstream will also let your body produce the hormones it needs for better sleep. And with good sleep comes other benefits—muscle repair, brain-chemical balancing, and increased energy during the day. You might almost say that sleep is nature’s ultimate spa treatment. It’s no accident that the connection between sleep and obesity is one of the hottest scientific enterprises going.

There are a lot of ways you could comply with this rule: Don’t eat three hours before going to bed. Don’t eat after eight. Don’t eat anything after dinner. You decide. But make the effort and enjoy the weight loss rewards!

THE SKINNY RULES comes out May 15th, but you can order online from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or anywhere else books are sold.

Michelle Made My Day!

Posted on

I was SO touched by this letter from a soldier. It’s so humbling and rewarding to be able to help the brave men and women who are out there defending and protecting us.

Thank you Michelle!! This MADE my day!

I am currently deployed with the Army. Before leaving, the active duty within my hospital department were able to start a physical training program. For being medical providers, one would not think starting a fitness program would provide such challenges. We were often not able to get together too quickly and gyms were not an option, so our NCOIC brought in the Warrior Yoga DVD one day for us to try. While we still laughed and had a good time, this was the first video that we actually latched on to and asked for frequently. It has traveled to Iraq and came home in December with my battle buddy. It is now currently in Afghanistan. Going to the gym is so much easier now and my clinic here goes as a team every afternoon at the same time. When something happens and we don’t make it there due to multiple factors, it is still nice to have that DVD to put in and stretch, relax and literally unwind from being a pretzel of emotions during the day. We definitely do not have yoga mats, and the floors are flithy, but it’s still a moment to just take away from the day for a little. Please send a big Army THANK YOU (HOOAH!) to Bob Harper for putting his videos out there and allowing the Armed Forces to use them as well!!

Thank you!
