Fitness Deconstructed: Speed Skater
Hi, Bob
I have been doing the challenges in your Blog (all of them)and so far so good
They are not easy (well, this is why they are challenges…)at all!
My favorite ones are the yoga exercises.
Have a great day. xoxoxo
Great tip!! Audio needs some work … it was like one channel wasn’t flipped on (on your end).
Can’t wait to see more clips!
I do these all the time with my clients for cardio spurts…i love them!…i cant wait to get your DVD’s Bob..im excited about purchasing them…your GREAT!!
Bob, fun exercise and great burn! Great point to mention to keep your knees (and don’t forget feet) pointed straight – will reduce chance of injury and strain on the knees.
But what’s with the “abs in strong”? That shuts down your body’s ability to breathe correctly and get oxygen in and carbon dioxide out. How about recommending “keep stomach relaxed and remember to breathe”? If people have weak abdominals or a weak “core” have then do exercises for that area but keeping the abs tight all the time is not something I would recommend.
If you’re not familiar with East-West Breathing, check it out: http://www.yespilates.com/2009/03/07/try-this-east-west-breathing/
I look forward to seeing more great videos!
Love this! Provided just the variety I was seeking…and it’s so much harder than it looks. Many thanks!
Great Exercise, my son is a hockey player and this is great for him to do with me off ice ice. Thanks.

This is a great enhancement to a good cardio workout. Please keep them coming. I’m just getting back into fitness and have a long way to go, but this is fun!

I love this idea!!! I will be trying this out next week when my gym is closed for the week!!! Gotta get those workouts in!!!
i have been working out since i have been 18.. im 50 now..i love all ur challenges..i have included them all to my workouts..♥
Great activity!
Matt, he’s not saying, “hold your breath.” He’s saying “activate your abdominals,” “pull your belly button toward your spine,” “draw in.” It’s not holding your breath, and it won’t decrease capacity to breathe. What you’re doing is, by pulling your belly button closer to your spine, contracting the internal abdominals, the ones that help stabilize your entire core and make you stronger from the inside out.
Thanks Bob, I’m going to try this today!!!
love love love the speed skaters..they really get my blood pumping for my morning workout..thanks!
Thanks Bob-love all your tips, your attitude about everything is awesome, and just….thanks!! You are an inspiration to many!
Can’t wait to try this move out-Thanks for the great workout tips!
Thanks Bob! These are the things I need especially when Im doing cardio inbetween my weights and I CAN manage that!
I do this exercise with my Stroller Strides classes almost weekly. Put a figure 8 band on and feel the burn even deeper! Fantastic exercise!
